Severe weather threat for portion of Central U.S.
 
Severe thunderstorms are forecast to affect parts of the central U.S. today. Hail, damaging wind gusts and flash flooding are all possible, along with a tornado or two. Damage from high winds is expected to increase as the day progresses, with large hail and tornadoes probable during the daylight hours. The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk, the second highest threat level issued, to characterize today’s threat primarily in northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas. The Shreveport, LA area is in this threat area. 
 
Consider securing outdoor items as well as parking your vehicle under an enclosure. Be vigilant in checking for tornado warnings.
