A light snow event is expected for coastal areas with heavier accumulations from the Appalachians to northwest Pennsylvania, western New York and parts of northern New England. Ice will also be a factor in areas such as northwestern North Carolina, western and central Virginia, as well as central New England with up to a quarter of an inch accumulation expected.
