Series of Storms Predicted to Impact West, Southwest

A series of storm systems are predicted to impact California and other parts of the West through late this week. Periods of heavy rain could contribute to flash flooding while snow accumulates in the mountains. The Southwest may also see rain and mountain snow from this weather pattern.

  • 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible across California's coast, southern California, and southern Arizona. As a result, flash flood watches are in effect for parts of California through Wednesday night.
  • 1 to 2 feet of snow is possible across the Sierra Nevada, with over 2 feet in the highest elevations. Various winter storm warnings, advisories and watches are posted for California's Sierra Nevada and the mountains of Southern California to parts of Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.
