Severe Storms Predicted for Gulf Coast and Southeast

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rains, flash flooding, hail, and high winds are predicted to impact the Gulf Coast and Southeast Tuesday through Thursday.

An elevated risk of toranodes is possible on Wednesday. For this reason, the TOR:CON has been raised to 5 for parts Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, meaning there's a 50% chance of a tornado within 50 miles of any location in the indicated area. Tornadoes may also be possible in a larger area surrounding those states.

Flash flood watches have been issued for portions of the Florida Panhandle, southeastern Alabama and much of Georgia.
