Severe Storms, Flash Flooding Predicted for Gulf Coast and Southeast

The same system that produced tornadoes, flooding and blizzard conditions across the central Plains is predicted bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to the Gulf Coast and Southeast mid-week. Damaging winds (40-50 mph) and isolated tornadoes are possible, but flash flooding will be the main threat. Rainfall amounts may reach as high as 3 inches across the Southeast, with higher totals in areas experiencing drenching downpours.
