Severe Weather to Target Central States Wednesday

A potential severe weather outbreak, including a threat of tornados, is possible for a large portion of the central United States on Wednesday as a powerful low pressure system enters the region. The main threat will develop in the afternoon with severe storms along the west of the Mississippi River. Isolated tornados, large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding are also possible.

Northern and central Missouri, including St. Louis are the areas of greatest concern with regards to isolated tornadoes at this point. As with virtually all severe weather forecasts, there are uncertainties. In this case, it pertains to the magnitude of the tornado threat and how far east the severe weather will spread.
