Mercedes-Benz Recalls

March 4, 2015

Mercedes-Benz has just recalled 150,000 vehicles in the U.S. Because this recall is related to the engine, we wanted to be sure you were aware of it. Below is an overview of the recall.

A rubber seal at the back of the engine bay may temporarily stick to the hood when it is opened, and then may fall into the bay when the hood is closed. If the seal falls in and comes in contact with parts of the exhaust system, the risk of a fire increases. Starting in mid-March, dealers will attach four additional retaining clips to the rubber seal, free of charge. The models affected are as follows:

  • 2015 CLS400
  • 2013-2015 CLS550
  • 2013-2015 CLS63
  • 2013-2015 E350
  • 2015 E400
  • 2013-2015 E400 Hybrid
  • 2013-2014 E550
  • 2013-2015 E63
